I hope this is of great use to those who desire to turn up the fire in their speaking career. Here are three simple steps that will move you forward like a bolt of lighting.
Note: I would not recommend this for everyone. If you know with-out any doubt, that your were born to speak. READ ON!

I.
PASSION - a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for SPEAKING.

II.
DISCIPLINE- Practice, Practice, Practice, In spite of what Allen Iverson said.... Practice mentally through out the day, all day...See it, say it, own it, then act.

III.
STAY POSITIVE INSPITE OF? - People will say go slow, you can't do that, it's best to do?, etc... Show them love, thank them, and continue forward. Keep your big goals to yourself. Toastmasters is a great organization, but you are the master of your destination. It's easier to move fast... 5 to 15 minute speeches should be fun and easy if speaking is your TRUE PASSION AND CALLING.

KEY - You can join more than one club..
There's meetings everywhere almost everyday.

OH!!

I obtained the level of CTM twice. The first time was eight days, just to see if it could be done. Remember the four minute mile?. The second time eleven days. The second time was much more intense, and focused.

Have Fun and be YOU!

Congratulations on your achievement - twice!

But what did you learn in such a short time?

So how long will it take you to get your DTM?

Great Question Murray,

The purpose for me joining toastmasters is truly to network in an enviroment of constant growth. My purpose is to master my vocation to a point where I am able to earn a living, teach, train, inspire and motivate others around the world. DTM is a nice accomplishment, but in truth, it's a medal that one does not need to become a professional in public speaking.

To answer your question, what have I learned? I learned that, I love the profession of speaking and it's what I was born to do. The key to being great, is to continue learning and enjoy it, when it's time to apply it.

Great Success to you,

LT

I certainly have no doubt that you are a good speaker and I congratulate you on the effort that you completed the entire Toastmasters CTM project twice in 8 and 14 days. I personally have no concern or interest in knowing whether you learned or achieved something out of this or not.

My question to you in that How did you complete it so fast. I mean 10 speeches in 8 or 14 days is a bit hard for me to digest no matter how good you are. It is up to you if you want the whole world to know about how you did it. If it is some kind of secret then keep it that way.

Hello AQ,

Do you have at least ten stories?
a)Where are you from?
b)your struggles?
c)victories, large and small?
d)people who inspire you?
e)your travels

Do you love what you do?

Do you have passion? (hobbies)

Every day there's a new speech.

With every person and experience you meet with, there's a new speech.

I've never written a 7 minute speech on paper. It's in me and in YOU... You simply have to draw it out the best way for you (be natural).

If you have a passion of sorts. I believe you can speak on your passion for at least 10 minutes.

*** It's truly about expressing what you believe,no matter what others think. Say it with all your might.

NOTE: Every great achievement, was at first, hard to digest.

** Do you remember the FOUR MINUTE MILE?

** The first one hundred point basketball game?

** The creation of the light bulb?

** The V-8 Engine?

THERE IS NO SECRET... It's been revealed thousands of times. "Whatever YOU believe, will eventually manifest".

Hello LT,

Your answer certainty clarified a portion of my question that was sort of hidden in lines. I appreciate all the tips and tricks you have provided not just as a clarification but they are also very true.

What I actually meant by 'how fast' was not in terms of topics or details but in terms of the time frame. In other words, how did you manage to give 10 speeches in 8 days? Did you speak at other clubs? Did you give more than one speech at a meeting?

Once again, it is entirely up to you to answer or not.

Hello AQ,

Yes to all... I even spoke twice a day on a couple occassions. Here's a few tips I hope will help should you decide to move, learn and grow fast.

1. Clubs have morning meetings, lunch time meetings, evening meetings and even week end mtgs..
Go to: www.toastmasters.org to find clubs in your area.

- You can choose to join more than one club.

2. You must contact the clubs and ask if there is an opening.
- Often a scheduled speaker will cancel and they may have a spot available. This will also get your name out there as a person of courage and determination.

- Be prepared to jump in and speak on short notice, if they contact you.

3. Plan your start and finish date. Expect some delays and practice in between. Enjoy meeting other members from different clubs. You'll get great ideas for future speeches as well.

In doing this, you will find daily speaking repition is just like daily excersize, daily driving or daily anything. The more often we do it, the better we get. SPEAKERS, SPEAK! You may also get to speak in front of people with different educational, income, professional and even cultural backgrounds.

It builds great confidence and flexibility. I hope this helps.
