Having burnt one's fingers (lost money) a few times , I have begun to think that the old format of Rummixxas does not work.
We have done some thinking and have come up with a new concept.
a) We announce a venue e.g Harmony, Bandra. Meena at Kalina. Chembur Gymkhana. The number of Comrades who turn up does not matter. It could be 5 it could be 25.
b) The waiter keeps a tab on how much each individual Comrade is drinking and makes individual bills. Each Comrade settles their own bill, at the end or whenever they leave.
c) The cost of the snacks will be equally shared by all present. If someone leaves early. We calculate the current bill for snacks and that person has to pay his/her share.
d) The cost of dinner will also be shared, but only by those staying on for dinner.
If anyone has some better suggestions please let me know. We plan on having a Rummixa towards the end of this month.

Give the folks a chance to get over their hangover ! All that blast of fresh air I get when riding perhaps helped me to wake up first!
So here goes. I think it was a brilliant idea on your and Ian's part to hold the'meeting' at the bar (is there any more appropriate venue?)of the Chembur Gymkhana. As I was told it was a 'test run' for future rummixxars, and I think it has succeeded well.
Now, is it possible to hold a full Comrade meetup regularly at the place? If not at the bar but anywhere else at the Gymkhana? If yes, I would certainly vote for it. However, with one strict proviso that all expenses be shared by all.
Thanks a lot guys and gals for a wonderful evening.
Finally, thank you Ian for footing the bar bill and Venky for the dinner bill.
May the amber liquid flow in abundance.

Indeed the new format sounds very simple and practical. Just one suggestion, like earlier Rum Mixers perpayment for booze will be good idea so that the poor Waiters dont have to remember who ordered how many drinks and if someone leaves early, without remembering to pay (cant blame a 5 peg down Comrade) and waiter forgets to collect the amount; you will again end up burning your fingers.
And of course thanks for the treat at the last meet!!
Announce the Mixer with the new format soon. Give it try and see how successful it is.
