Shannon Hill | | Does anyone remember reading an article recently about a sanctuary for blind dogs? I read it, but can't remember where. Shannon Hill | | Update: I pulled the 2 blind Pekes from the animal control this morning and drove them two hours to meet the rescuer who handles blind dogs. One is very blind - the other has some vision, but I'm betting she'll lose her left eye, because I think she has a ruptured cornea, probably from an untreated ulcer. Sweet, sweet little girls. Some jackass left them on the side of the road and Animal control picked them up. Consensus is they probably belonged to an elderly person who was ill or maybe died, and his/her family dumped them. They're well fed, have relatively new collars, but obvious health problems. And there's no way they wandered to where they were found, because the totally blind one sits down and won't move if she's in unfamiliar surroundings, and the other one won't leave her.
