Hi Everybody,
Maybe some of you have seen this but it was new to me so I wanted to share it with you.
I had a Rottweiler years ago who used to howl like this when she heard sirens, and harmonicas. This reminded me of her, she was so much like this boxer.

I thought the sound was just 'bringing out his inner wolf'! Not thinking that his ears hurt, I was laughing! Such a funny dog. Our Rottie years ago, every time she heard an ambulance or fire trucks, could be miles away, she would start to howel like this dog does. we used to take her to the town parade every memorial day. we had a small town, the fire trucks would come through and everybody town would focus on her howling. we have videos of it.
We fooled around with a harmonica and as soon as she saw it she got excited and started making noise even before we played it.
She was an awesome dog, I think she just liked to sing. she was the smartest dog we ever had. If one of us would go away for a few days on a business trip she would sleep by the living room window until we came home. she never liked any of the family being apart.
I'll stop here before I get mushy, she was wonderful.
anyway, my point is, I think some dogs just get into the singing.

Loved it!! My Golden used to howl with sirens--and really HOWL!! It really was funny--and since I live in the middle of no where it was always amusing. He'd throw his head back and just let it rip! He covered many octaves during the event! He never barked but what a vocal range he had when it came to howling.
