Once you have your server you will need to setup your email service.

The following instructions are done in your cPanel admin.
1

Look for the icon below and click on it.

2

Select the "Forwarders" link:
3

Click on the "Click Here"
4

Click on the "Set Default Address".
You have 3 choices. :blackhole: is the default on new accounts.
  • Set the default to your user name. NOT RECOMMENDED
Doing this will let the server send you any and all emails, regardless of what is put before the @. Be prepared for a lot of spam.
  • Set the default to ":blackhole:" ( No quotes but with the : at beginning and end). RECOMMENDED
This will delete everything that is not addressed to your master email address, (username@your_domain.com)
You can use forwarders to add email addresses.
  • Set the default to ":fail: no such address here."
This will return all emails to the senders, (or faked senders in the case of spam).
    NOT RECOMMENDED
  • Set the default to another email address to forward all your email there.
You can forward all the email to more than one email address by using commas between the addresses.
NOT RECOMMENDED as there are better ways of dealing with email.
5

If you have set ":blackhole:", then you will need to add forwarders.

Click on the "Add Forwarder" link

6

In #1 add the new address you wish to use.
It can be anything. E.G. sales, info, your name, etc.

In #2 add either your user name, or a different email address, and all emails to the set address will be directed there.
Click on the "Add Forwarder" button.

7

Due to the amount of spam emails I receive and to keep things organized, I rely heavily on the forwarders feature.
If I go to a website that wants me to sign up, I use an email address specifically for them. E.G. If I were to sign up on "http://anysite-forums.com" I would use "anysite-forums-com@my_domain.com".
If their service is not what I want, or if they start spamming me, all I have to do is to delete the forwarder.
Extra. Fighting spam.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection

Form to submit a complaint about a particular company or organization. This form also may be used to submit a complaint to the FTC concerning media violence.
If you have a specific complaint about unsolicited commercial e-mail (spam), use the form on their page.
You can forward spam directly to the Commission at SPAM@UCE.GOV without using the complaint form.
Following the logic of reporting email to UCE.gov, one could change their catch-all forwarder to
SPAM@UCE.GOV instead of :blackhole: and send all your spam to the UCE.gov
