Michael Lemm | | I've gotten a few emails in the last month asking me what blog "pinging" services are available/useful these days and what not. So I wanted to make sure to add them here in the free tools section as well.
My all-time favorite ping service is http://pingoat.com. They seem to ping more locations than any of the others, and they also provide a field for you to actually type in your XML feed URL for the ping!
Another very good one is: http://pingomatic.com.
And a new one I recently discovered is:
http://pinger.blogflux.com.
*Their actual homepage is: http://pr.blogflux.com/.
- One cool thing about their homepage is that is also gives you a tool with which to check your page rank, which is quite handy!
Anyway, I know there are many more pingers out there, but these are the ones I found to be the most reliable and useful in the last months. So go ahead, ping away!

Michael Lemm | | Here is a nice, free planning tool called KeyNote:
http://www.tranglos.com/free/keynote_download.html
It is software that lets you create nodes (folders) and subnodes - kind of an outllining program. The great thing is that each node allows you to add notes in word processing format.
So when you are planning a new ebook or product launch, you can do all the planning and writing right in KeyNote and then just copy and paste it into whatever you need later.
The software is free and open source.

Steve Bralovich | | Free Hosting For Your Website
Here's an excellent free hosting company with NO ADVERTISING, decent disk space (250mb), bandwidth (4Gb) and features:
http://XSiteProHost.com
Supports PHP and comes with email accounts. Plus you don't even need a domain name. You can use one of their free subdomains and host that way.
I have an account with them myself and for a free host, they're one of the best I've seen.
The only thing I didn't like is the email. You can only receive emails, not send. You get that with paid accounts only as well as a slew of other features.
But I got around that by using Gmail to fetch the mails and then send with the account name. That's a little known feature of Gmail.
Anyway, if you need a decent free hosting account, this is one you should look at...

Steve Bralovich | | 250 Incoming Links Free! TopTenSerp Free Links Incoming links are important for search rankings... This is a linking program I stumbled upon during my search for an efficient incoming links program. They have a 3way link network that, once setup, will automatically add 250 one way, incoming links to your website. They have a free trial for one website with 250 links and after that they charge for additional sites. I've been using it for a month now and it is working. They had some bugs which seem to be worked out now which is why I'm listing it here. --Steve Private Reply to Steve Bralovich |
