girija duggal | | Dear all,
Do you know of any old restaurants in delhi/NCR which are now being run by the 2nd or 3rd generations? I can personally think of many shops in and around Chandni Chowk, but that's about it. Any suggestions?

Ashwini Ailawadi | | You could try Moets and Col kebabs at Defence Colony, Nirula's, Haldiram, Rajinder da dhaba at Safdarjung Enclave, Kwality's and Kake da Hotel in Connaught Place, Evergreen Sweet House in Green Park, Nathu Sweet house and will let you know what else once I can think of some more. Ashwini Ailawadi | | Here's some more: Depaul's, Berco's, Madras Coffee House, Wengers, Gaylord, Keventers, QB8(originally called The Cellar). These are all situated in and around Connaught Place.
Then there's Metropolitan(main street, Paharganj), Golden Dragon(Vasant Vihar), Pindi's(Pandara Road), also a host of others in the same line on Pandara Road, Defence Bakery(Defence Colony), Fujiya(Malcha Marg), Aka Saka(Defence Colony), Madras Coffee House(Green Park), Bengal Sweet House(Bengali Market), Triveni Cafe(Triveni Art Gallery, Mandi House, but am not sure) Kamals(Sunder Nagar), The Village Complex(Siri Fort), Chawla's Chicken Corner(Patel Nagar or Rajouri Garden, not sure about the exact location but they seem to have branches all over), Roshan Di Kulfi(Karol Bagh)
You could also try some others in Connaught Place. They've been around for ages but am not sure whether the ownership still belongs to the same family: Embassy, United Coffee House, Standard Restaurant, The Host, Mini Mahal, Yorks, Ginzo's.
That's it for now.
Ashwini

N Iyer | | I think FLAVOURs - the Italian eatery is also run by a couple - does that qualify for 'family-run'? It is known for excellent home-style Italian food, forget the location though! Private Reply to N Iyer |
