Not to mention a check fraud scheme which was second to lying about the steroid use.

U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karas said he gave her the maximum under the plea deal to send a message to athletes who have abused drugs and overlooked the values of “hard work, dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship.”
“Athletes in society have an elevated status, they entertain, they inspire, and perhaps, most important, they serve as role models,” Karas said.

Now my cynic begins to think something, first she is a woman, and secondly, black.
If this were Lance Armstrong would he have been given the same sentence?
Keep in mind there is quite the stigma associated now with baseball giants that happen to be men. And what is happening there? "play ball".
Outside of a few that have been chastised and black by the way, the baseball commission is basically slapping a few wrists when compared that to the sentence of Marion.
The Media Bias
In local news we have a man that lives in MN and went to a strip joint in Wisconsin, but there was a problem he locked his baby in his van for several hours. Charges are considered. My cynic is not lost on the fact that this man is white. If black he would be chastised.
Take for example CNN that routinely feeds my cynicism. Should a young blond woman come up missing they will surely run that story and routinely after that run a negative story of a black man.

I can only *shrug* to things like this. Seems very un-important, whether she broke the law or not.
Very cynical myself, it seems. Tired of hypocritical systems that are made to keep certain races and classes of people down.

I was shocked when I saw the sentence imposed. But then I thought, Martha Stewart got a similar sentence.
And I remember how so many males treat Cindy Sheehan and Hillary Clinton.
Someone wrote me an email after Hillary almost cried and said "she is a cold hearted bitch." Is there an equivalent statement about a man?
Just wondering.
