In case anybody is thinking of using NetworkSolutions.com as their domain registrar, I highly recommend against it.

This company was one of the original ICANN approved companies and recently they've resorted to devious tactics in order to extort excessively high prices for domain name registrations.

Basically, when you search for a new domain their system registers the domain to "NetworkSolutions". If you decide to use another registrar for less money, you can't. Your only option is to use their service.

I tried this out and it's true.

You can read about it and see screenshots of what happened when I tried to register a couple of fictitious domains as an experiment at my blog at:

NetworkSolutions Domain Name Scam -- Scam Busters Blog

I urge everyone to boycott NetworkSolutions for using such under-handed tactics.

Lets spread the word about them before they extort more unsuspecting Internet marketers and webmasters.
