To everyone, a quick status report.
I am numb as I type this. . . .
Teri my gorgeous bride, had breast cancer 12 years ago. And as of October 2nd 2007 I returned from the Oncology office with the results from my wife’s lung biopsy.
Breast cancer (on the opposite side of the previous side) which mastisized to the lung. (A spot about 1 inch square on the lung a spot about the size of a pencil eraser in the breast) along with multiple lymph nodes around the heart.
Diagnosis:
Stage 4 cancer
She started chemo in November and had the lump removed in November. She then had another test 01.11.08.
As of 01.16.08 we have been informed that there is cancer present in the ovaries, and a small spot on her spinal column 5th vertebra. The original spot on the lung has not increased in size.
Prayers are greatly appreciated for Teri.

Anything and I mean ANYTHING you could do to assist in getting the word out to others for prayer, is greatly appreciated!!
We are faithful children of an awesome God. This is where the rubber hits the road, through fervent prayer. May His will be done and His name be glorified to new heights through all this.

I was praying that the New Year would bring new hope and good news, but I can see that this cancer really wants to win. I admire your courage to even be able to share and ask for our prayers.
I believe in prayer having the ability to support and strengthen us, and even to heal us, but I also believe that we need to use any tools available to us in this kind of battle.
I'm sure you've been heeding Teri's treatment advice, but something drove me to find out more and seek answers, and I happened across this page.

01.17.08 We found out that there is a 90% chance that the ovaries are ok. They will be watched closely for any changes.
01.21.08 Bone scan scheduled, to see if the bone is infected with cancer.
01.23.08 Report back to us on the bone scan. Results -0- cancer found.

Thank you seems so inadequate of a response. . . But the proper words fail to come to mind, so.
Please accept my THANK YOU SO MUCH to each and every one of you that have replied and / or offered your prayers and support. You are the ones we can lean on -- and yes cry out too as well. Rest assured that you had a very big part in these miracles.
Because of your positive thoughts and prayers, compounded with your action to send many heartfelt notes and e-mails that Teri has read, and reread, she continues her battle in great spirits and enjoying life with surrounding supportive friends like you. We are truly blessed!!

Everyone,
I want to personally thank each and every one of you who have emailed Mike regarding my illness. I've felt God's presence through this whole journey and believe that HE is in total control of my life. Which by the way, is the best place I could ever be.
To give an update, today was my appointment with my oncologist and was given great news, it appears the bone scan came back NEGATIVE!!! for any spreading to the bone.
( PRAISE THE LORD )..
I would only ask that when praying, please ask the Lord to use me during my journey and above all, that he is glorified through all of this.

To All:
This is to update you with regards to my illness.
First of all, I'm doing great, I recently had a Pet scan which showed the tumor on my lung has shrunk, the other two areas ( which showed up on the Pet scan in August of last yr ), are now gone. PRAISE the LORD!
My numbers have gone from 10.2 to 3 which indicates that the chemo is working.... ANOTHER PRAISE.......
I'm to have surgery soon for removal of my ovaries, as I'm high risk for ovarian cancer. Once this is done, I will continue with the chemo followed by another Pet scan to see if my number changes from 3 to a 0.
But regardless of the outcome, my God is STILL faithful to be with me and my family during this time.
Again, we want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your prayer, and support during this time.
May God continue to get the glory for the great things he has and is doing.

As I have affirmed before, Teri still remains in great spirits. And her strength is holding.

We recently confirmed (from the prior testing), by the comparative reports that the cancer has shrunk from a 10.2, down to a 3, it is now down to a 1./ something !!!

Prayers appreciated especially this week.
Teri is slowly starting to feel the effects of this latest treatment this Wednesday. The soreness has started and is now slowly building. The effects usually build until about Sunday night. Then start to subside after that.
As Teri stated, we are looking for the praises and the glory that can be given to Him while seeing us through this.
Thanks again for everything, especially your constant prayers and good thoughts !!

I've been so preoccupied that I'm only now reading of your triumphs, our triumphs, God's triumphs.
Prayer does work, and I'm glad to have been part of that, and will continue praying with you for as long as it takes.
I have to admire you both, Teri for your continued strength when I'm sure there were times it hurt and felt so bad that you just wanted it to end, and you Mike, for being the rock standing by her to anchor her to this world when I'm sure you felt crumbly like sand at times.

I am exhausted just watching Teri go through everything, and she is the one going through this trial. Teri plainly is the one with all the strength. Add the tropical storm Fay and other hurricanes (As we had a bit of flood damage to contend with in my office) along with related IT electrical issues to the mix and well. . . things here have been interesting to say the least.
What can I say but,
Thank you again for everything !!
Please remember to lift Teri up these next few months.
We celebrated her birthday on the 4th of August, she remains in great spirits and her strength grows as the chemo has stopped in preparation for surgery.
As you know, the plan was to go in and surgically remove the now small spot of cancer on Teri’s lung, (on August 13th ) and radiate the area briefly later on to ensure any other contamination from cancer is destroyed. The surgery is completed and Teri was released Monday morning 08.18.08, and went to her Mom and Dads house for convalescing.
This particular operation was very painful and physically draining, but Teri took it in stride, and has resolved to put this behind her as quickly as possible.
Her beautiful smiling face never utters a complaint, a true inspiration to myself and others that see her.
The road remains long and there will be other radiation and surgical procedures to follow, but with Gods grace and proper monitoring. . this could be a total cure for Teri.
Praise God !!
So please continue to lift her with your continued prayers and or good thoughts !!
The Miracle continues !!

She passed with grace and dignity, . . . the kind of classy lady that she always was.
Unspeakably missed. . . I envy her perspective on the new vistas she has now. As I praise God for her freedom of pain and worry.

Mike, We connected as friends and I hope we continue as such.
I'm so sorry to hear about Teri's passing. I have no doubt she is incredibly missed by all!
If there's any consolation.. you've spoken it. Teri is free from her pain.. and in a better place/

Remember this though: God never gives us more than we can bear, even though we sometimes go through some extremely difficult and trying times. God always gives us enough grace, and He provides us the strength to get through the tough times. We don't always understand why God allows things to happen in our lives, and this can sometimes be the most difficult thing for us to understand. However, God allows things to happen in our lives for a reason - He is always preparing us for the next step in our lives, and sometimes, we must endure difficult times in order to meet the next difficult task that we might have to face, or perhaps we go through a difficult time in order to be a comfort and a help to someone else who may be in a similar situation that we have just gone through.
God allows us to go through difficult times for many reasons. One of those reasons is to draw us closer to Him, to strengthen our faith, and to make us better. These trials also help to make us who we are.
Hang in there and don't give up. You may not be able to see the "light at the end of the tunnel" yet, but if you give up now, you will never see the light at the end of the tunnel. The light might be just around the next bend, or over the next hill on the horizon. As the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Well, God has equipped us so that we can finish the journey, so keep hanging in there and keep going.
