Universal
Love (Loving Mankind)
I am going to share with
you a fact about the mind that most people don’t know. Do you know that
the subconscious mind only knows YOU? Your mind cannot tell the
difference between you and someone else. It only knows you. You are
only “you” in consciousness.
It is more commonly known
that the subconscious records everything that you have ever thought,
said, heard, felt and experienced. It has a perfect memory of
everything that has happened and ever will happen to you.
Now, what I am getting to
here is that when you think of someone else in a critical, negative,
disparaging way, guess what? Your subconscious thinks you are talking
about yourself. And the subconscious mind does not reason or analyze…it
just accepts your words and ideas as an order to be carried out.
So you have just called
someone a jerk…or something more expressive. Your mind hears this and
records it and as far as your subconscious mind goes, you are now a
jerk. I’ll bet you’ll be thinking about that one for a while.
This gives a whole new
insight to that old expression: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t
say anything at all."
Interesting bit of
trivia: Did you know that Thumper said that in the 1941
animated classic, Bambi?

What we focus on, we
create. What we repeatedly focus on, we create even faster. So if we
are constantly criticizing our fellow man – finding fault, complaining,
concentrating on flaws – then…we are helping to create and perpetuate
the very thing we are critical about – and it doesn’t matter if your
target is a family member, a neighbor, a boss, a politician, a
president, a terrorist. And who is really the target of these negative
thoughts and words? That’s right. Ourselves. We poison our own systems
with these negative ideas that we think we are projecting elsewhere.
And what we are concentrating on, we will attract more of, and then we
will have more to complain about and the cycle goes on – whether on an
individual level, as a community, or as a nation.
So the way to contribute to
the beauty, goodness, positivity and healing of this world is to keep
our minds and energy focused on the goodness and positive qualities in
our fellow man and in this world. Then we will not only attract people
of quality into our lives but we will be participating in the
manifestation of more goodness and quality in mankind. When enough
people on this planet realize this, then and only then can our world be
truly healed.
Dr. Joseph Murphy said,
“What we wish for our brother, we wish for ourselves.”

Self Love
I’m sure you all have a
best
friend. I want you to imagine for a moment that your best friend has
come to you and is very down. For the sake of convenience, let’s say
it’s a she. Perhaps she is not living up to her financial expectations,
maybe even lost a job or can’t seem to get her business going. Or has
failed at relationships or has family problems. Or can’t lose weight.
Or maybe she has hurt people unintentionally. This friend is really
down on herself. I would like to ask you – what would you do?
If
your best friend was down, you would console him or her and offer
unconditional love and support, wouldn’t you? Why would you not do the
same for yourself? You are your own best friend, you know - for life.
Now I want you to give
yourself a great big Valentine hug. Come on, do it.
We
must learn to love ourselves unconditionally with all of our perceived
flaws. Realize that you are perfect in Spirit and you have the right to
love yourself just as you have the right to breathe the air and to
breathe in the abundance that is circulating in the Universe.
There
seem to be many paths, but the quickest, most complete, most permanent
path to self-esteem and self-love is recognition of the Divinity within
you. You are a spark of the Divine. Know it.
So...let’s
discuss self-love and its effect on our lives. These are the thoughts
that came to mind, my own philosophy of self-love.
When
you love yourself…
(1)
You are saluting the Divinity in you - that part of you, your true Self
that is whole, complete and perfect and awaits your recognition.
(2)
You are releasing powerful hormones that enhance your immune system to
produce physical health and well-being and mental clarity and joy.
(3)
You are aligning yourself with the natural rhythm of life - nature
always progresses onward and lifeward, ever seeking toward growth,
healing, improvement and betterment.
(4) You become a magnet
to attract the loving gifts of the Universe in every form - loving
relationships, money, success.
(5)
You become "filled" and "full" and thus are able to give of your
fullness to others. You add to the energy of others and nurture them.
You lift them up to a place of love. What greater gift can you give?
Without self love you are depleted. What can you give?
(6)
You don't "need" others to love you because "One with God is a
majority". You will naturally attract all of the love you could
possibly want. Your cup will be full. You won't need others to
"complete" you.
(7) You will be giving
your children a wonderful legacy and starting them on the path to
fulfilled lives.
(8) Whether you have a
dollar in your pocket or a million, life will be grand and filled with
promise and hope.
(9) And finally, you can
buy yourself a present on Valentine's day :-) The greater the self
love, the bigger the present.
Why
even consider the alternative?

Loving Money
Let's start out with the
words we don't want to say and hear, but they may hit home and cause
you to take stock...
Do you criticize money in
thought
and speech? Do you speak negatively of your bank balance or business
income? Have you thought of money as a “necessary evil”, “the root of
all evil”, “filthy lucre”? How do you feel when others have more money
than you do?
Well, this Valentine's Day
is a
good time to take stock of these patterns and understand once and for
all, that any of these ideas will certainly prevent the flow of
prosperity to you.
Dr. Joseph Murphy
taught...if you criticize money, it will fly away from you.
Why
Is This So?
Remember that what we focus
on we
attract. If you focus on not having enough money, you will continue to
not have enough money. If you envy someone else’s money, you are really
telling your subconscious that you don’t have any. Your mind gets the
same message if you live in a state of fear about money or give money a
negative connotation. Remember, spiritual substance responds to our
words and thoughts. Money has no more negative attribute than gold,
silver, wheat, sheep or any other form of value exchange ever used.
How many of you are
gardeners? How
many of you believe that when you love your plants, you nurture them
and they are happier and healthier plants?
How
about your children? What happens when you love them and nurture them?
Is there anything you can think of in your life that does not grow and
prosper when showered with love and blessing and praise? If you love
your body, it will respond with health and vitality. If you love your
work or your business, it will grow and prosper. Well, you can also
love money right into your life.
Dr. Murphy said that if we
criticize money, it will fly from us. We must learn to love money. That
means to love your checkbook, your bank accounts, your online
statements – everything associated with money. Love money and you will
attract it. Anything that you love, praise and bless will grow and
prosper – be it human, animate or inanimate. Spiritual substance
responds to our blessings and love.
I had one student who
feared
looking in her checkbook. I had her think of her checkbook with human
characteristics and feelings. A feeling object that didn’t want to be
rejected and feared. It wanted warm and fuzzies – love and
appreciation. We laughed picturing her checkbook wanting hugs. She
released her fear of looking in her checkbook. And she was well on her
way to attracting money so that there would be even more to love.
Another student had checks
jumping
and running with glee into his pockets. This was an Internet
businessman who used constant humor to attract money.
Do these methods feel
silly? Will you feel silly loving money? Sure. Why not? I say feel
silly all the way to the bank. :-)
Think of the larger
picture. Aren’t
you learning to “embrace” your prosperity? And haven’t we learned that
the subconscious takes things literally?
Love money and have fun
with it - and have fun making it. The more fun you can have with
prosperity, the more you will attract.
What
Is Money, Anyway?
I want to share a few
excerpts from Charles Fillmore – the founder of Unity.
These are excepts from his work entitled Prosperity.
This is part of the introduction to my Feel Free to Prosper
program.
"The
spiritual substance from which comes all visible wealth is never
depleted. It is right with you all the time and responds to your faith
in it and your demands on it. It is not affected by our ignorant talk
of hard times, though WE are affected because our thoughts and words
govern our demonstration. The unfailing resource is always ready to
give. It has no choice in the matter; it must give, for that is its
nature. Pour your living words of faith into the omnipresent substance,
and you will be prospered though all the banks in the world close their
doors. Turn the great energy of your thinking toward "plenty" ideas,
and you will have plenty regardless of what men about you are saying or
doing.
"The
spiritual substance is steadfast and immovable, enduring. It does not
fluctuate with market reports. It does not decrease in "hard times" nor
increase in "good times." It cannot be hoarded away to cause a
deficiency in supply and a higher price. It cannot be exhausted in
doles to meet the needs of privation. It is ever the same, constant,
abundant, freely circulating and available.
"This
Spirit substance stands back of and gives support to man's every
thought and word. It is ready to provide food for all living creatures
everywhere.
"If
we are to go forward spiritually, we must not waste our thought stuff
in idle thoughts, in thinking thoughts of poverty, discontent,
jealousy. We should positively weed out of consciousness all thoughts
of poverty and failure, and in thinking or speaking of our affairs we
should use the very highest and best language at our command."
[End of
excerpts]
Now
doesn’t this description of spiritual substance suggest a Divine form
of love – the love of the creator for its creations. "Ready to provide
for all living creatures everywhere." I can think of no higher form of
love than the Love that Spirit holds for us. And all we need to do is
open our minds and hearts to the Divine gifts. And included in those
gifts is money.
Yes, you can
love
money - pure spiritual substance in the form of money. We have
discussed what happens if you don’t love money. If you criticize money,
you will repel it. If you buy into some antiquated belief that it is
the root of evil or filthy, you will repel it. If you envy someone
else’s money, you will repel it. If are afraid to go to your checkbook
or bank account to see the balance, you will repel it. If you are in a
constant state of worry or fear about money, you will repel it.
Isn't it time
that you became a magnet for money and prosperity?
Isn't it time for you to learn to love money? How
about starting now - for Valentine's Day?
Here's a reminder...
I
Money

Loving Creatures
To
continue our prosperity "Love Fest"...
It's almost Valentine's Day
and thoughts of love are in the air. This was sent to me some time ago
by an FFTP student, just in time to share some "warm
and fuzzies" from a couple of warm and fuzzie children of the
Universe...
The Story
(at that time)...
A woman found the fawn
under her step (they think the doe might have been hit by a car)...her
Ridge Back dog is helping to look after it. The family named the fawn
Bella. Once she has regained her strength (she was not in good shape
when the family found her) they are going to send her to some friends
who (in the past) raised two orphan deer and released them to the wild.
Right now she is being bottle fed. Their dog, Hogan, has basically
taken over. The fawn even shares his bed.
Looks like true love to me.

Loving Chocolate
No discussion on love or
about Valentine's Day could be complete without mentioning “the love
food."
So…what’s the real scoop on
chocolate?
That depends.
First,
the bad news…
Your favorite chocolate bar
is 55% fat, depending on the amount of cocoa butter it contains.
Besides a small amount of caffeine, chocolate contains theobromine,
which is also a stimulant. (This is why hot chocolate before bed isn't
a good idea.) Also, chocolate must contain a considerable amount of
sugar in order to be edible.
Columbus found this out
when he returned to Spain and presented Queen Isabella with a cup of
pure hot chocolate, Aztec-Indian style. Her reaction was, "Yuk." It
wasn't until 20 years later that the king of Spain thought to add sugar
and vanilla.
Now, the
good news…
Although a daily dose of
chocolate could turn you into a "chocoholic," it can be helpful on
occasion. According to the book Mood Food by
William Vayda, one of chocolate's amino acids, phenylethylamine (PEA),
called the “love chemical”, acts as a painkiller and antidepressant,
which makes chocolate the "feel good food."
Consumption of chocolate
and this amino acid helps trigger the release of endorphins, the body’s
natural opiates, which provide a sense of well-being. Enhanced
endorphin-release reduces the chocolate-eater’s sensitivity to pain. As
if the Valentine's Day chocolate tradition needed an even greater
boost, it is speculated that phenylethylamine is the chemical that the
brain releases when people fall in love.
It is also said that the
carbohydrates in chocolate help the brain release serotonin, a
neurotransmitter that plays a central role in simply feeling peaceful
and well. Concerning the fat issue, even though cocoa butter is a
saturated fat, recent research shows that stearic acid, unlike other
saturated fats, doesn't raise cholesterol levels. (The exception would
be milk chocolate, which contains milk solids). No wonder folks fall in
love with chocolate.
Throughout history,
chocolate has been considered a natural aphrodisiac—an elixir for love.
Casanova, the original ladies' man, ate chocolate to inspire romantic
feelings. Montezuma, emperor of the ancient Aztecs, consumed chocolate
to increase his virility.
In the 1800s, doctors
routinely advised their lovelorn patients to eat chocolate to ease
their pining over an unrequited love. This cure is no longer medically
advised, but is still widely practiced—often with the help of two men
named Ben and Jerry. :-)
In 1860, an English Quaker
named John Cadbury joined with his brother Benjamin to create a
chocolate business called the Cadbury Brothers of Birmingham. John
touted his belief that imbibing chocolate was much healthier than
drinking alcohol. A year later, his son Richard Cadbury introduced the
first heart-shaped candy box for Valentine's Day. The tradition of
buying chocolate for your sweetheart has blossomed ever since. Today,
Americans spend more than a billion dollars on chocolates for
Valentine's Day each year.
That’s a lot of love.
The above information about
chocolate was found on MotherEarthNews.com and FoodFit.com.
And now
THE LATEST GREAT NEWS!
Since I first gathered this
information a couple of years ago, widespread news has surfaced about
the health and antioxidant benefits of dark chocolate. Current
medical “gurus” are now endorsing dark chocolate as a health food when
eaten in moderation. Yippee!

Some time ago, a Ryze
friend sent me the following message that I found rather amazing.
First, his message, then links to this amazing discovery. I cannot help
but think that a bit of mind expansion into the unlimited resources of
the universe will help with our prosperity work...and remind us of the
truly unlimited abundance of this vast Universe...
Hi Marilyn,
I've recently learned of
your call for "distant horizons" and thought you might enjoy reading
about this newly discovered infinite source of "abundance" the Universe
has to offer. Can you envisage a nicer symbolic gift for all the
planet’s women on Valentine’s Day?
What you see below is not a
photo. But what it depicts is rather amazing. It is a crystallized
white dwarf named BPM 37093. A white dwarf is the hot core of a star,
left over after the star uses up its nuclear fuel and dies. It is made
mostly of carbon and is coated by a thin layer of hydrogen and helium
gases.
And in this case it has
now been found that the core of this
star is SOLID
DIAMOND. It is 2,500 miles across and weighs 5 million trillion
trillion pounds, which translates to approximately 10 billion trillion
trillion carats, if you want to measure it as an earth
diamond. Supposedly our sun will end its days as a diamond as well.

The fact is that God has created each and everyone of us perfect in his image. Think about that for a minute. No matter who or what you are, no matter what handicap you perceive about yourself or others you were created by God. And HE has given us certain gifts, talents, to serve Him and a greater purpose.
The Bible speaks of this and this being the case, how can you not love yourself. I think we all tend to be hard on ourselves but the Universe is their to help and the abundance it can offer is limitless.

Loving ourselves frees us to do the Divine work and serve others in LOVE!

Angie, Kat, Linda, John and Raj,
Thank you so much for your contributions and comments to this thread.
Do you know what is so exciting? In just over 24 hours, this Valentine Workshop has attracted over 1100 views!
Why is that? Yes, I have posted invitations on several other networks and to my subscribers. And yes, this is a free workshop. But that doesn't necessarily mean members will follow through to a free invitation.
I think it's for the reason stated in the final segment above:
"But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Private Reply to Marilyn Jenett | Feb 16, 2008 2:51 pm | | : Feel Free to Prosper Valentine Workshop: Self Love | # | Shondra~ Rose of Light~ | | Hello Marilyn and FFTP Family, It has been a while since I have been here, and Marilyn, I so appreciate your call last night. This Workshop is a wonderful reminder of so much we already know and can apply more completely. The truth is, THERE IS SO MUCH LOVE! I remember when I first began to work with your Lesson One, the first thing that poured in from my abundant universe was Love! The desert I had been living in was suddenly flooded with what I craved most to nourish my soul, and the money followed soon after. And the lesson for me has always been to fill my heart with love and everything else will just be taken care of (sounds like "seek ye first the Kingdom.... " doesn't it? ) Well, we live in the Kingdom of Love. This was my 3rd Valentines Day since I met you here at Ryze, and it was the best ever. The whole day was filled with Self Love, which I lavished upon myself. I was in the midst of a week long process with myself, so I just focused on loving myself, and I even wrote a Valentine letter to myself, to bring that love to an even higher level of completeness. Part of the purpose of the exercise was yet another deeper level of self-forgiveness of anything that might still be interfering with the most full expression of my life-work on this beautiful planet. Here is an abridged version, but you get the idea: A Valentine to MySelf ~ 2008 "Dear Precious One, My self/Self, Today is the day of Love, and how perfect that I should address you today... today above all other days and you above all other BEings. I love you and I forgive you. I forgive you and I love you. I want to tell you that I appreciate everything you have done and value every experience you ever had. I acknowledge every choice you ever made. I know many of those choices were not easy. They were hard and painful. And I see how far you have come and I acknowledge you for every step you have taken on your path. No step was wasted. No tear was wasted. I know I have judged you very harshly for what I thought was wrong, and were mistakes you could not help making, or worse, that you could have helped and done better, if only this or that were true.. I withdraw all that judgement about everything. I set you free from all the judgement I ever leveled at you, and I set all the others free from the judgement I condemned them to. And I just love you . I forgive you for all the pain and suffering, the years spent in the darkness of "less-than" and "not enoughness". I forgive myself for all the years and lifetimes of supposed failure while I could could not wake up out of the nightmare. I let it all go now, and just let in the Flood of Love that I now have for me, and that I now allow God to lavish upon me, that God/Goddess always had for me but I would not let it in, blocked it with my self-condemnation and judgement. I am letting all that go now, so I can let the LOVE in, receive it completely and deeply in every part of my BEing, on every level of my BEing, in every cell of my body and atomic particle and sub atomic particle of my BEing. And I ask that every part of my BEing that would not receive the Love before would now be completely healed to be able to receive it completely now. And if any part of my being cannot be healed to receive that Love, I ask that it now be compassionately released back to Source, disolved and its particles recycled to a higher purpose that CAN receive Love from Source. I AM the One I have been waiting for, and I AM here now. I AM here to LOVE and to BE LOVE. I now give myself the freedom to pursue my Dharmaleela (life-work/play) wholeheartedly, free of distraction and energy drains. I give myself permission to FULLY EXPRESS who I AM, here, now, on this planet (and beyond). I give myself permission to FULLY EXPRESS who I AM, here, now, on this planet (and beyond). I give myself permission to FULLY EXPRESS who I AM, here, now, on this planet (and beyond). So BE IT IT IS DONE." Thank you again, Marilyn, for doing your "Dharmaleela" and sharing it so freely with all of us. May your Self Love be deep, flowing and complete, as God in You LOVES God in You! FFTP Members,
I had contacted the two websites mentioned in my segment above entitled "Loving Chocolate" to request permission to reprint the portions of their material if I turn this workshop into an upcoming eBook.
Mother Earth News asked that I attribute credit to their specific material. I did not hear back from the second website.
So, to respect that request, I would like to also attribute credit in this online workshop, to the following quoted references:
"This amino acid helps trigger the release of endorphins...which provide a sense of well-being."
"As if the Valentine's Day chocolate tradition needed an even greater boost, it is speculated that phenylethylamine is the chemical that the brain releases when people fall in love."
