Susan McCool
Hello Everyone! We have been getting several new members and I realized it has been quite a while since we have all done our introductions. With the "sticky" power, I decided to restart the intro thread and make it a "sticky" topic for everyone to see.

So, new members please introduce yourselves. Tell us a little about you and your business.

Seasoned members, re-introduce yourself for everyone to get to know you and your business. Maybe your business has taken a slight turn or you are now offering new services/products. Let us know!

To our success,

Susan McCool

My name is Susan McCool. I am originally from Palm Beach County, FL - grew up in the once-small town of Loxahatchee. After 3 horrid hurricanes and the rise in traffic, crime, population and construction, we decided to move to a smaller town where we can peacefully raise our children. So, in late 2005 we moved to the North Central Florida area (just south of Valdosta, GA), in a small town called Lee, FL (in Madison County). Taking the plunge was hard, we both grew up in Palm Beach County and we had to leave behind family and friends. But, I did have family up here to help make the transition smoother.

I have two children - Tucker, age 3 1/2, and Paige, age 1 1/2. Two very large furry children - my american staffordshire/rednose pitbulls - Goofy and Annabelle, brother and sister both will be 5 in July. And a very supportive hubby who also has his own local handyman business (and will soon be "given" the reins of another local handyman business thanks to our prosperity homework through Feel Free To Prosper - http://www.feelfreetoprosper.com)

My business is Spotlight Marketing and Design (http://www.spotlightmarketinganddesign.com). Spotlight Marketing and Design is a marketing and design firm specializing in Internet Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Web Design and Development, Graphic Design and more. While we cater to the coaching, speaking, author and solo-preneur industries, we are diverse enough to handle any project.

Coming soon are my new business selling informational products on marketing, design and seo, and my website template packages.

I also offer custom Ryze designs for personal pages and network pages. You do not have to be a paid member to have a professional-looking page. You can see a few samples on my Ryze page.

I look forward to networking with everyone!

Warm wishes,

Susan McCool

Julie Bestry
I'm Julie Bestry, president of Best Results Organizing in Chattanooga, TN. I'm a Certified Professional Organizer -- as such, I work with overwhelmed individuals to help them save time and money, reduce stress and improve their productivity through organizing skills and systems.

I'm originally from Buffalo, NY, but have also lived in Ithaca and Syracuse (having gotten my B.S. at Cornell University and my M.A. at Syracuse University). Later, I worked at various Southern market Fox, UPN and WB stations in Augusta, GA, Tri-Cities and Chattanooga, TN, as a television program director.

It was in the wackily fast-paced and detail-oriented world of broadcasting, where I developed a passion for teaching good organizing skills and creating effective systems with (I hope) patience and humor. I started out consulting with small market television stations to help organize their programming and operations departments and improve their efficiency. Then, as the post-9/11 economy made corporate job security less viable, I opted to turn my independent (and non-morning-person style) towards opening my own business.

I'm active in my chapters of the National Association of Professional Organizers, where I hold Golden Circle (veteran) status and the National Association of Women Business Owners. Aside from my Organization Tuesday posts here at The Business Consortium, I write articles, provide organizing tips on the local NBC affiliate, and deliver presentations to a wide variety of groups ranging from the Tennessee Public Health Association and the Federal Defender Services of Eastern Tennessee to Mothers of Multiples to various professional and social groups.

It all adds up to the undeniable fact that I have a lot to say and want to share it, whether it's talking casually, speaking professionally, blogging, posting or writing longer form material.

And, as a former TV exec, I can tell you that they can take the girl out of television, but they can't take television out of the girl. From classic series to little known "cult" programs (can Remember W.E.N.N. and Homefront get some love?) to whatever is hot (but scripted, rather than faux reality), I'm your source if you want to talk about TV. I'm also all about a great narrative, whether it's Jane Austen or Jasper Fforde, Lost or Doctor Who, Elvis Costello or Joan Baez.

Mostly, I want people to know that disorganization isn't a character flaw -- it's just a mismatch between the skills and systems you're using and the demands life is placing on you. Decide to have a more functional life, and then "Don't apologize. Organize." to achieve what you want.

Diana Kennedy
Hello everyone!

I am happy to reintroduce myself especially since so much has changed in my life over the past year when I joined this network!

My father was military so I moved around a lot, living in Europe and in different parts of the United States. This helped me to be flexible and be open to new experiences.

I just recently moved from Tallahassee, Florida (close to where Susan lives) to attend Seminary with Unity. If you've heard of the Daily Word or Silent Unity, then you know that is where I am here in Missouri! It is a 3 years Master of Divinity Program. I love all the personal growth work we get to do to fine tune our lives!

I now work more than full time on the prayer line (love it, especially since we use affirmative prayer and positive thinking as some of our tools). I still do some massage and I have my spiritual internet business at http://www.dianakennedy.com where I have e courses, some teleclasses and offer Angel Readings for only $25.

I assist people to get clear about what would enrich their lives, how to balance work and play, and how to get in touch with their deepest selves.

I look forward to getting to know each one you and watch you and your business grow!

Many blessings...

Diana ~ http://www.dianakennedy.com
Angel readings, sacred art, massage, and so much more to take you higher!

Barb Desmarais

Hi everyone ~

I joined this network quite awhile ago but have never introduced myself although I know many of you.

My name is Barb Desmarais and I live in Vancouver, Canada - considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I didn't grow up here but have lived here for 25 years. I'm married with 4 grown children. Our youngest is soon to turn 19.

I work as a parenting and life coach which is a culmination of close to 30 years of working in some capacity with families and children. I've been coaching privately for 5 years but have been working as a parent educator for 20. As long as I can remember I've been very interested in the quality of care provided to children.

I look forward to learning more from this group.

Dannye Williamsen

Hi! My name is Dannye Williamsen, and I am The Solopreneur’s Coach.

Coaching/counseling has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember. Strangers would come up to me at a department store and begin telling me their problems when I was still in high school. I didn’t see it as unusual at the time, and it nurtured in me a passion for helping others. Today I am still passionate and have developed my intuition which serves me well as The Solopreneur’s Coach.

Through my management background in such diverse fields as construction, land development, commodity market analysis, mining, and cable TV, I was fortunate to be in a position of working with others to change their lives as well as impact the tasks at hand through their personal growth. I often find myself on the listening end of others' problems. It's always been this way, and perhaps that is what sparked my desire to help others. I only know that over the years, the process has changed my life because it continually forced me to look inside myself as I strove to empathize with others.

My psychology degree convinced me that change is more personal than it is necessarily viewed by academia. Change is constant, but the nature of that change is a matter of choice. However, as one's understanding grows, those choices become clearer and more psychologically penetrating. Understanding requires information and applied experiences.

With my 25+ years of study focused on personal growth, my goal as a coach for solopreneurs is to assist them in gathering information they can use to appreciate who they really are; to give them the courage to apply what they learn to their day-to-day experiences; and finally, to just experience the joy of success.

As an author, I have a 5 CD audio book called "It's Your Move!" which was a finalist in the 2004 Book of the Year Awards. I also have a book titled "Metaphysical Minute - Philosophy on the Run." Both are available on my web site.

I have also written two psychological thrillers for which I am currently seeking representation. If anyone can help me with this, I would be eternally grateful!

All the best on your quest,
Dannye Williamsen
