I of course said, "no way". I could not see the whole plan that God had for me and my husband at the time. Marilyn did. Now after doing several public announcement segments on various radio stations here in Denver, and a couple of blogtalk shows. I am ready! It's so natural now. My husband and I have put together our "speaker's kit", and we are looking for paid speaking opportunities. I'm reading up on how to get speaking engagements on the internet. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be interested in speaking.

I just wanted to say that I think there is such a need for what you are doing. The fact that you want to be doing more to help others by speaking about it on the radio and to live audiences is wonderful.
A friend of mine here in Oregon is the intake professional for a local school district. She talks to confused and frustrated parents everyday about their autistic children. The stories are heartbreaking.
If you can help parents cope with the tremendous guilt, hopelessness, and fear that plagues them when they realize their child has autism, you are doing a world of service.
BTW: Oregon has the highest rate of autism diagnosis in the country.
I applaud your effort to go beyond your comfort zone and bring some light to others, in spite of your initial fears. Way to let the universe work through you!
Blessings to you and your husband, Sandi
