Barb - Dr. Phil
A wonderful thing happened to a Feel Free to Prosper student yesterday.
Very wonderful indeed. But in the midst of all the excitement and
wonder was a seed of insecurity that tried to sprout. But it was also a
great opportunity for me to share this lesson with her. And she has
graciously permitted me to share it with you...
Barb Desmarais is a talented parenting coach (www.theparentingcoach.com).
She’s also one of the kindest and gentlest people you could ever meet,
highly respected on the networks where we met a couple of years ago.
In recent times Barb has been wondering what direction she should take
with her coaching practice or whether she should even possibly consider
pursuing a different path.
Today, she posted the following message on the Women in Networking
forum that we belong to:
Barb's Post:
Guess who called me today!!!
My business phone rang about an hour ago. This was the conversation:
BD: Hello this is Barbara Desmarais
Caller: Hello Barbara, this is _____from the Dr. Phil Show
I found your name on the internet.
At this point my heart was pounding out of my rib cage and I could
hardly breath. I'm trying to desperately sound calm and professional
while thinking "THE DR. PHIL SHOW IS CALLING ME!!!!"
They are seeking out parent coaches to work with parents in their home
for TV segments. She wanted to know my philosophy on parenting and my
background. She asked me to send her any books I've written, articles,
my bio. etc. She also asked if I had any video clips of myself. I said
no, but then remembered the clip I have teaching Baby Sign. I've sent
that.
Even if the contact doesn't go any further, they've made a connection
with me. I feel honored.
Wow - You never know what the day is going to bring!

When I read this, I replied…
Barb,
I specifically recall that we discussed the Dr. Phil show for you
awhile back. Either you and I spoke about it privately (when you were
taking my program) or you and I discussed it on one of the networks.
But I definitely recall a conversation about it.
So I think those ideas just travelled through Universal Mind to find
their ultimate destiny.
As the greatest teachers of prosperity laws have taught us: Our words
do not return to us void.
Now the teacher in me would have you eliminate the first part of that
sentence:
"Even if the contact doesn't go any further, they've made a connection
with me. I feel honored."
I would like to see you write instead:
"They've made a connection with me. I feel honored."
So many times we aren't able to process something so big and wonderful
happening to us, and it's easy to get into an "even if" mindset...it's
as if have to soften the possibility just in case it doesn't happen.
The ol’ "too good to be true" syndrome.
But it's important to remember that our words are powerful. When
something big like this happens, keep feeding the "done deal" energy
into it. Accept it as a happening, don't take any steam out of it.
We have nothing to lose, and everything to gain, if we opt for full
complete acceptance of the wonderful happening.
Recently you and I had a telephone call about your parenting business
and its direction. Now do you understand more fully what I mean when I
say that the Universe has ways and means and avenues of success beyond
what our limited thinking can conceive? And often incredible
opportunities will open up when we give up our control and stop trying
to figure it all out by ourselves.
So to sum up this mini lecture....
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!

s Post:
Marilyn, yes we did have a conversation around the Dr. Phil Show awhile
back. Also, I've been writing on and off for a couple of years how
grateful I am for "being discovered by the Dr. Phil Show".
As you suggest, I'm going to say it right now -
They've made a connection with me. I feel honored. Thank you for the
reminder of the power of my words.
I do feel honored. Very honored.

Private Message to Her:
Barb,
After responding to your post on WIN, I read further and
found you’re next post in which you stated to all the members
who were congratulating you:
"I'll keep you posted.
If I never hear from them again, I'm thrilled and honored to have made
a connection with them."
Please, please don't give your subconscious the opposite message that
you want. The mind accepts our words literally and hears the dominant
words.
Why aren't you just saying, Thank you, Universe!! I accept, I accept!!
Instead of telling it you don't want the gift...
I just had to tell you this.
Can you delete that last post and post it again without the part "If I never hear from them
again" .....
I know you are attempting to show some humility to the board, but
that's not the way to manifest. It seems like you don't want it to
happen. You are just satified with getting the call.
Why not accept it all???? This is the break The Parenting Coach has
been waiting for!!

Ok, I'm going to do it right now. Got it! Yes, I want to manifest this.
I'll delete it now.
Marilyn - I want to credit you for being instrumental in this
manifestation. You've taught me the power of gratitute, the power of
words, the timing of the Universe, and so much more.
I hope what is happening to me is also a testimony for your work.
People know I have worked with you.
Off to delete my post, right now!!

May I write about our conversation in my newsletter?
The lesson I shared with you just now would be a good one for many
others also.
This is great lesson material for FFTP :-)

Yes, yes, yes - share the story in your newsletter and mention my name.
I will definitely post on WIN how your teachings have been instrumental
in this manifestation. This is networking at it's best. It's building
relationships with people - supporting each other - sharing
successes....
Marilyn, I keep reflecting back at myself talking on the phone this
morning to a Dr. Phil producer with my pajamas on, trying to stay calm
and sound professional!
Thanks so much for your ongoing support and for helping me to THINK
BIG!!
Barb
And
the last post I saw of Barb's on Women In Networking:
I would like to publicly say that Marilyn Jenett's Feel Free to Prosper
program has been instrumental in this manifestation. I've learned what
words to say and not to say, the power of gratitude, how the Universe
responds to what we put out. This is bigger than big.
There is so much about this whole experience that involves many more
people than me.
I'll keep you posted.
A warm hug to you all for your well wishes and excitement for me.

And
Barb, if you're reading this...
Now you're talking like Dr. Phil material! (And still more humble than he is - heh,
heh)

And your story reminds me of something that happened to me a couple of years ago, before I was consciously 'thinking prosperity'.
I had written my book, "How To Be Perfect", and it was published online, but without publicity it was languishing in obscurity. I talked about it on a few forums and one of the participants wrote to tell me that he thought I would be an excellent guest on the radio show "Coast to Coast". He said he was going to contact the host, George Noury to suggest me for an interview.
I was delighted, of course, and thrilled at the thought of talking about my book on an international show, but that thought sat side-by-side with the thought, "Fat chance! That ain't never gonna happen. And what would I SAY if it did, anyway?!" But I remember telling myself to think positive and keep an open mind. Then I forgot about it. Which do you think was the dominant thought? This could happen? Or, "Fat chance"?
It never happened.
Since that time my life has changed dramatically. I've focused my thinking on prosperity and I've had a wonderful reversal of fortune, but in another line of work. I had largely forgotten about my book. Reading about your experience gave me a little tug.
Maybe it's time to zero in and apply my prosperity consciousness to "How To Be Perfect". After all, I see now that that's what the book is really about -- how to think -- perfectly!
As Marilyn has said many times, just knowing (or writing) about something isn't the same as DOING it!

Rasheed, Sherry and Shann -
Thank you for sharing in the excitement with me. It's a fun ride right now, I'm telling you!
I had an email from the producer this morning saying she received all the material I sent and would be in touch.
Sherry, it may be that the exposure of your book is just meant for another time. What I've learned is that you do the work to plant seed, nurture it and then surrender.
I remember getting a call from our national TV network, CBC. They wanted to do a story on signing with babies. I down played the whole thing and thought it would be nothing. It turned out to be about an 8 minute feature story with me in it, on national television. It was picked up by a number of other local stations. You just never know.
I remember the first time I was quoted in "Today's Parent" magazine. I was elated. This would be my big break. The magazine is sold all across Canada. Thousands of people would read my name. I've been quoted several time now in several issues but the outcome is not what I expected. It's taught me to just trust the Universe to deliver in it's own way and in it's own time.
Thank you Marilyn for sharing my story here and in your newsletter.
I'll keep you posted.
Warmly,
Barb

Thank you Alison. Yes, this is huge. It seems quite surreal.
It will be nice when I have more details. There are many unknowns at this point.
I know YOU are a master manifester!
