I am the co-founder of a start-up called Pothi.com, based in Bangalore, India.
Pothi.com provides tools and marketplace for self-publishing using Print on Demand. Here one gets a real, printed book (and not an e-book). Print on Demand means that we can print one copy of the book at a time. Hence, we print the books only after an order has been placed. Unlike the conventional self-publishing options, where the author has to pay upfront for printing the books in a large quantity, here there is no upfront cost for the authors. We provide online marketplace for selling the books and share the profit with the authors after a sale has been made. If needed, paid services can be availed from us for formatting, cover design and proof-reading of the book.
