Suman Tripathy | | Well, with things coming 2 an end and not being able 2 make it till now .....was getting restless....
Finally last night 5 of us went on a TRUE BINGING spree .......
In the past, v normally have at and around 'Bara Handi' in Nagdevi street. This time v ventured 2wards Minara Masjid. V entered 4m the side bylane, b4 the main junction, where 'Libas' and other dress shops are there.
1st stop was - 'Bade Miyan's' - on the right side they serve soup. V had 2 Chicken soup -70/- each and 2 Tongue soup - 65/- each ( was sceptical about this soup, had never had b4.... but with gr8 conviction managed 2 taste a bit ...., it was good ). The soups were more of a shorba and gravy like and oily 2, but spicy and good and had big 2-3 pcs in it. U need 2 squeeze a good amount of lemon in2 it. There 270/-.
Next stop was, further at the other end ( dont remember the name )- actually 4m the main junction when u enter the road between Zam Zam sweets and Suleiman Mithaiwalla, this is on the left, at the corner. Had Kaleji masala & Gurda masala - 80/- each with 5 pao. I thought that the amount was too less, served in a qtr plate and the price wsa more. But the gravy was tasty. Total 170/-.
3rd stop was 2 shops behind it, in the lane. There v had Whole fried Bater - 125/- which was quite bony and little flesh, but the marinade was good and mixed masala plate which had brain, liver, and other things - 150/-. Though tasty but again felt that the prices were a bit steep. Along with 5 small baked naans and 2 soft drinks, damages were - 320/-.
Next stop - from that corner shop if u go straight there is one Chinese Restaurant, outside that they were serving. Here v had 1 large Nalli Nihari ( it came in a bucket ) - 90/- 6 Roomali roti's ( came in a nice cane basket ). Here everything was very good .... Nalli Nihari was excellent. Total amt - 168/-.
Next v tried sweet idli - 10/-. Didnt like it. Then 5 Kala Jaam - 40/-. Very good. Next washed it down with nice chilled Jal Jira 5 for 25/-.It was gr8 after the heavy and oily food. Thus total damages were 1003/- for 5 ppl.
But i still feel Nagdevi street is cheaper ...... So maybe try 2 go there 2 if possible ...... Private Reply to Suman Tripathy |
