haven't read the article you posted but i liked parichay in vile parle (east), just off hanuman road and behind the wagh bakri tea lounge...
the food at parichay was authentic marathi (as informed to me by a marathi) and i found it very delicious.
my favourite was the stuffed capscium and besan sabji with a simple yellow dal and rotis.

 |/i/ek |/ijayan|=- | | Tambe lunch home at kabootar khaana, dadar acroos the road bang opposite another restaurant Visaava... Authentic Maharashtrian food..very tasty and reasonably priced...
