Great sense of color boundaries ... you can almost produce oil-color preciseness with water colors ....

How long does it take to make one of these ?

I do some water colors now and then and its obvious that the amount of patience you have is immense !!

Keep up the great work ... you will reach many heights !!

Very good, I specially liked the way you have done the kids eye & his hair. Even the lady's face is very good.

Mahesh,
if you have done this without any digital manipulation( a shortcut that talentless artists like Yusuf Arrakal take), then bravo! An excellent job. I would dearly love to see more of your work. Could you point out a link where?

I am fatigued with the utterly stupid works of Pynes and Souzas and Dases and Hussains and Ela Menons - you have the refreshing scent of morning air.

Superb work again(and again if you have kept away from photoshop, scanning and digital printing as a substitute for drawing and working out a composition.Sorry to sound so cynical but I have seen many artists going down this path)

Hello Gurmeet, First of all thank you for your comments. i havent used any kind of scanning, photoshop & digital printing as a substitute for drawing and working out a composition. of course i have done digital works earlier but learnt that talent alone lifts you up & so started to use my talent rather that using digital effects. its a technique that i have learnt by experimentation during the last year(based on the vast experience i have had on watercolors- i may have painted thousands of watercolors to achieve this quality)i have also done 100s of realistic reproductions mostly of "richard akermans" (these were commission works) which have enchanced my hold on watercolors. this watercolor was a part of the show i had at gallery dravidam last month were my exhibition was very successful with a 80% sell out. i am posting an oil work that had been executed about 10-12 years ago using the black & white sketch. i shall post more works on this thread in the future as my website is under upgradation right now. In that case Mahesh, well done -in fact, very well done.
I, and I am sure many others, would like to learn from your techniques. Are you open to being interviewed and giving a demonstration -totally unpaid, I am afraid.I would like to feature you on my art site-
http://whattheheckisart.blogspot.com/
and on an upcoming artmag that I plan to bring out.

You may contact me at-
artdegurmeetatgmaildotcom

or PM me or simply reply here for everyone's benefit.

I also find a curious disconnect between your styles -
Your following works-
"untitled","women in limelight","evolution & revolution"
(available here-
http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/yourgallery/artist_profile/P%20Mahesh%2BKumar/30679.html)
are stylistically and technically very different from and much, much inferior to "Mothers Love"(the top image here), and "age & experience"(also available at the same link).

What accounts for the difference? In fact, the difference is so stark that if I had seen only the first three, I would have taken you for just another artist gone down the mediocrity hole and not given you any more thought.
