Cheenu Pillai | | It is often said an artist should reflect nativity in his works.I hear views that many of today's artists have more of an European approach than Indian approach.
What according to you in Indianness?

Amit Chopra | | Hi Cheenu, As far as medium is concerned I don't think there is anything Indian or Non India....all can use the same ...whether the artist is Indian or Non Indian. It's the response I get from inside me which helps me decipher the Indian flavour....sometimes it has to be the title which I read which bridges the gap.eg In the case of Manish Pushkale's work ...or for that matter Prafulla Mohanti...take away the title and the work could be of any country. Sometimes it's quiet visible without reading the title...eg....errr..Cheenu Pillai. Private Reply to Amit Chopra |
