Thought that would get your attention...laughing. This is a business wise article based on advice our parents taught us many years ago." Don’t Jump into Bed with Them on The First Date, Get to know them!" Potential Clients are the beginning of a lifetime client cycle. So you should ensure strong policies in the beginning to secure YOU later on. You don’t need to know their favorite color but you should know their Business Financial history and health. When you sign up for new health insurance policy, Providers ask you to take a physical and divulge family history and habits .There is a reason for this. They need to determine their actual risk in providing you with a policy and determine what you should pay. The Same Applies here! You should look into a potential client’s business history, their financial payment habits, and overall health. So, how do you do that? Ensure they complete a credit application, terms and conditions agreement, and for smaller businesses or companies that have not been around for a substantial amount of time, a Personal Guarantee. If they have a problem with this, FIRST RED FLAG. If they are confident that their business is stable, it should NOT be a problem. Then, do YOUR homework. Ensure accounting contacts all listed references on the credit app. Google them! Go to YOUR local secretary of state website and see if there are recent judgments, liens, and of course ensure they are a legally binding entity.Next, pay a little to save a lot. Run a BCR.If you don’t know where to find these sites or forms, msg me I will provide them for Free! Bottom line is this; you would not go to bed with someone on the first date, don’t jump into bed with every client that shows interest without finding out who they are! Then, if all fares well, “take it easy the first time “around. Begin with a low line of credit and proceed accordingly. Be Safe. When they break payment terms, review and act accordingly. Extra steps in the beginning can save you thousands in the end!
