So you should ensure strong policies in the beginning to secure YOU later on. You don’t need to know their favorite color but you should know their Business Financial history and health. You should look into a potential client’s business history, their financial payment habits, and overall health. So, how do you do that? Ensure they complete a credit application, terms and conditions agreement, and for smaller businesses or companies that have not been around for a substantial amount of time, a Personal Guarantee. If they have a problem with this, FIRST RED FLAG. If they are confident that their business is stable, it should NOT be a problem. Then, do YOUR homework. Ensure accounting contacts all listed references on the credit app. Google them! Go to YOUR local secretary of state website and see if there are recent judgments, liens, and of course ensure they are a legally binding entity.Next, pay a little to save a lot.
