Hi Lisa / Andrea,
Color is a difficult thing to match for the web. Every monitor will be slightly different, in fact the side-by-side difference between my CRT and laptop LCD is astonishing (even after running Adobe Gamma).
As for differences between Photoshop and browsers, it seems to be due to image compression. When we compress an image and reduce the bit depth of the color, there are fewer shades available to display. I've also noticed when checking sites, that slight differences in color after graphics are optimized is less noticable or nonexistent in Internet Explorer than in Mozilla / Netscape.

Hex codes are pretty true though I've noticed and occasional anomoly between Photoshop and Browsers displaying same hex code in the same way. But this is rare. Generally works like a charm. >http://users.rcn.com/giant.interport//COLOR/1ColorSpecifier.html >Best, >lisa >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Private Reply to Russ Jackman (new win) |
