"What are you doing now?" I can remember thinking that was an absolutely crazy thing for a social media service to be asking. But, that is what Twitter was asking. And, it is still asking that question. The difference is that NOW people around the world are engaged in answering that question. What's more, they answer that question in the manner Twitter instructs - 140 characters or less.

Consequently, Twitter is making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Twitter is also making a difference in lives of businesses around the world. Businesses are using Twitter to better market products and services. There are even companies creating products for amassing more Twitter followers. It is downright amazing what is happening in cyberspace these days.

Being a self-confessed netweaver - a "goto" guy - I am very impressed with a social media service that actually helps people solve problems by answering questions. I came across such a service in Aardvark. You ask a question as an email, IM or Twitter and chances are you will get an answer to your question in just FIVE MINUTES. This, to me, is absolutely remarkable.

I actually tried this service. I asked a question and got a response back within five minutes. That response came from someone in Oklahoma City - a person I did not even know. Then, a minute later another response came. This time from someone in New York City.

Think about the possibilities here. You go into an important meeting. You take your cell phone or Internet tablet with you. Important questions are asked. No one at the meeting has an answer or even a clue where to go to find the answer. You whip out your trusty cell phone and send a text message to Aardvark. Within five minutes you have an answer and are able to make the business meeting more productive for all in attendance.

We all know that the Internet is changing the way the world works. But, now you know that people in cyberspace you don't even know will come to your rescue...thanks in part to Aardvark. If you have yet to join this amazing community, I would like to give you the opportunity. Just click here.
