Five Steps to Multiple Sidebars for WordPress | Views: 384 |

Kurt Schweitzer | | I know there are a few WordPress bloggers here. This might interest you.
I've recently revived my blog at http://KurtSchweitzer.com, installing the latest version of WordPress and setting up my own templates. Along the line I decided I wanted to have multiple dynamic sidebars (that I can change via the control panel rather than editing any code) so that I could have different sidebars on different sections of the site.
WordPress' documentation is rather confusing - there's no complete example in the codex - so once I figured it out I wrote my own. You'll find it here: http://b8kre.th8.us/
If you have a WordPress blog please let me know what you think of my instructions.
Thanks!Private Reply to Kurt Schweitzer |

Heidi Caswell | | Wordpress documentation is often confusing.
I've not tried editing wordpress that way, but have used themes which had that function already built in. Still, it is good to know how to do such, especially if you want to add that feature without changing themes.
I find your directions easy for me to follow, I agree with your "experience editing your WordPress templates before you read this article". Good job.
You can also make custom page templates inside wordpress for various uses. One is use is one without any sidebars for a landing page leading to the site, etc.
