Gerard Douglas Petty "Drink Life, Drink MonaVie"
Greetings Chocolate Lovers Everyone!

I'm trying to find out more about what the worl d has to offer. Being from FL, I'm only exposed to so much.

From my experiences I've found that Godiva is the best chocolate in the world.

"Let me know if there is anything or any other chocolate that I need to taste?"

Sincerely,

Gerard Petty

Have you tried See's yet? They are a little less expensive, and to me soooooo yummy.

Hmmm, what a hard question, but a really delicious quest! Here are two of my favorites -- one from New Hampshire in the U.S., the other from San Francisco:

Byrne & Carlson

Recchiuti Chocolates

Lovely to give as gifts; lovely to eat.

I myself love Belgian Chocolate. Guylian is awesome. www.guylian-choc.com

Ritter (german) is also very good and sold at most Commissaries and PX/BX shops.

Hello,

Depending on where in FL you are, I might be able to make one recommendation for local, homemade american style chocolate candies. THere is a quite good local chocolatier called Hoffmans. Get ready for the smell to knock you off your feet when you first walk in...

Otherwise, i'd recommend mail order for a number of other names - but NOT GODIVA. At least, not in the US. It seems to me, they spend far more money on the box, and their marketing of it, rather than in the actual chocolates. In Europe their product was much better, but my information on that is not so recent anymore.... :-( Lindt dark 70% cocoa bars are a good quick fix for the good stuff, too, and getting ot be pretty easy to find.

Mail order:
splurge one day and get some fresh truffles by Martine's in NYC, don't get too many b/c they are indeed FRESH, and taste unctuous and heavenly, but need to be consumed within a few days. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED HELP FINISHING YOUR BOX =)

More later...
Chow,
Nina

Here's another high-end, specialty chocolate you absolutely MUST taste...
www.donnellychocolates.com

I have never tasted their confections - JUST their bars, and since those are so incredible, i expect their confections are every bit as good.... Except i just can't bring myself to try anything but the bars!!

Richard Donnelly's chocolate bars ARE the perfect food. This is SERIOUS chocolate. Wish I had some - - right about now :-D

Has anyone tried Bodega Chocolates yet? I think they're even better then Godiva. I liked them so much, in fact, that I became a Consultant. (Chocolate goes great with Wine - so it's an easy 2nd business to promote.)

You can check out the web site, but if you want to order I can give you better pricing. PM me if you want more info.

Hi there!
I have had the opportunity to explore quite a few chcolate stores in Europe and have sampled chocolates from some of the finest. Being a Pastry Chef, myself, I feel the chocolates from Le Maison du chocolat are the absolutely fantastic. Godiva is good as well...among a few others. Do feel free to write to me and I can give you a few more leads

Hi there!
I think Godiva is over-rated.Some of theirs are good.
Yes Lindt 85% is great for anyone who loves dark chocolate and occourse Belgian chocolates not to beat them. There are a lot of smaller botiques whose chocolates are much better like Del Rey, Pierre Marcolini to name a couple.
Did anyone try the Lindt 99% cacao?? Interesting it only comes in a 50gms packing . It has a special packing and the pcs are much smaller than the regular lindt. You have to break that tiny piece and let it just melt in your mouth you will just taste the cacao, can't eat too much of that.
ciao
Priti
Yeah what are these bogeda chocs??
