I don't have a lot of space, but I have a lot of paper! I tend to keep things out in the open because I jump from project to project-this is just how I work. Unfortunately, it's difficult to maintain an organized system; all my work ends up in one pile of papers that I am constantly sifting through to find what I need. Has anyone else come across this? I think I need to take a field trip to the container store!

I don't know if it'll work for you but I went from paper to online and it helped me tremendously! I just set up folders identified with what will be in it....and I back it up or store it on a disk. That way, I always have easy access to it plus can search if I'm not sure which doc has the info I want. No more paper piles or filing cabinets! Just an idea! Best of luck to you! Christina <><

Thank you for your post. Paper can get crazy at times, can't it. I use a wonderful system called The Paper Tiger. It's definitely different than any I ever used before. They guarantee you can find anything in 5 seconds or less. I've had it for three years and so far, they're right. Because of all the paper I had, it took my assistant some time to get it set up but it was worth it. You can take a look at it here: The Paper Tiger.
Another thing that has worked really well for me is to use the FAT approach to organization. It recommends that once you look at something, you:
- File it - or -
- Act on it - or -
- Toss it
Good luck!
