Is there a way to tell how many people are reading your blog RSS feed? | Views: 779 |

Denise O'Berry | | Dear Members --
I look at my stats for my Ask the Team Doc blog -- http://www.askteamdoc.com and they read something like this:
Page: index.php/feed/ Viewed: 1658 Entry: 171 Exit: 178
I have similar stats for the atom.xml and wp-rss2.php. Does anyone know how I can make sense of this and what it's telling me?
Thanks,
Denise O'Berry Network Leader

Tammy Ames | | Hi, Denise ~ Maybe you already found the answer to this question but I wanted to give it a shot. The index page of your blog feed was read - viewed 1658 171 of those viewers clicked into your blog to another page from the starting point of the index page while 178 of the readers clicked out of the blog via the index page to another site.

D Kai Wilson | | Slight tangent to what you're asking, but you can use a free service called feedburner to get better stat tracking (nope, not affiliated - I DO use it however). http://feedburner.com
As for what your stats mean
Your feed has been viewed 1658 times - 171 views are for people 'entering' your site directly using that url (so its possible you have 171 actual subscribers, or people picking you up through that feed) and 178 people clicked on your php feed last before leaving your site completely.
Hope this helps!

Peter Hadorn | | hi denise
i definitely recommend you to use feedburner as well (not affiliated)! you get al kinds of nice stats, all your feed requests are directed to one place and you can display how many readers you have very easily on your blog (plus quite a few other neat features).
cheers, peterPrivate Reply to Peter Hadorn |
