I have a new company and I'm trying to market it. The product we provide is a newer technology for businesses that allows them to manage many aspects of their business online, storing all of their important data in one place, and automating a lot of their processes. As this is a newer technology, and a platform that most businesspeople aren't too familiar with, I'm lost at how to market it.

The trouble of marketing this: I have tried Google AdWords. This gets companies to sign up for a free trial, and then proceed to be uncontactable after their 30 days is up. I checked the login logs, and most people who signed up for a trial from Google didn't even log in twice (not to mention that most of them were from China, Russia, Japan, or another country. So far, word of mouth marketing has posed to be the most effective, but even then, we've gotten 1 customer in 3 months.

Once people hear about what the application can do they're like, we must have this! That's usually when I'm talking to someone personally. Getting them to sign up and buy it is a whole other ball game though.

Possible reasons they aren't buying:

The application is not user friendly enough, or looks too plain
The user doesn't understand fully how to use the application
The presentation of the product and the user's first impression is not what it could be
We just aren't marketing to the right people, or enough people

I don't know if any of these are actually true, but it's some of the stuff I've been thinking. I have no idea what's actually going on, or why people do not buy.... maybe the ads were misleading them into thinking it was something it was not.

Could anyone please be kind enough to check out our software and give me some feedback as to why you think it's not selling like it could be... and tell me the impression you get from my company web site?

The site is at http://www.synergyadmin.com

and you can sign up for a free trial without giving any personal or important information.... you could use fake info for all I care. Please help me

Nate

I have not yet played with the software, but the website does nothing to make me interested, much less want to buy.

Had you not asked for help, I would have come and left in 5 seconds.

Here are some things to consider.
1. I could not find any clearly defined benefits, nor how these benefits work together to help my business.
2. Based upon your post here, it seems the data is stored, or handled off site. Yet no where is this serious security concern addressed. I think that will be a huge objection, once people get past #1. Granted, its probably more perception, than reality, and no doubt you have it covered. However, in most cases right or wrong, perception = reality, and you need to address this.
3. Migration and how seemless the migration will be is the next objection which needs to be addressed. I saw no mention of tools which allow one to pull/translate data from exisiting sources.

Thank you
Ron

I have to agree with Ron. The site does nothing to convey the benefits of your service much less how an existing business can utilize your services without disruption.

My first thought was about security, and your seemingly "casual" statements about it would not suffice to assuage my legitimate concerns.

I'd also recommend using some well-done tutorials demonstrating ease of migration, how applications are used, and how the interfaces work. These take time to produce, I know, but they could be worth their weight in gold. Showing often works better than telling.

I think you've got a worthy idea; this is Web 2.0 after all. Your execution needs to be thoroughly reviewed.

I truly hope this helps!

Best regards,

hi

went through the site and as a service provider to small business owners i can see a lot of value that can be added by synergy+

except for the facts.

1. the site is simply uninspiring.
2. the priceing is through the roof.
3. there is no focus on selling on the site itself. looks like one of those WAHM sites.
4. no communication on the value added by the product/service

you need a complete revamp on look and feel and also on the pricing.

webhosted services are a volume game not a value game.

you could PM and we could discuss what can be done to enhance sales.

I have had a brief look at your site and at the pricing.

You can buy a top notch accounting pack with most of the features you have at a fraction of the cost.

In my opinion you will not make sales of this online even with free download. Price will put people off trying it.

You either give it away free online and make money selling ads on the site or.

Sell it (if it is good enough) through microsoft or a professional software distribution company.

Talk to some software publishing/distribution companies about distribution to get some feedback.

Hope this helps.

I once worked selling point of sale retail software and
also sold specialist accounting and manufacturing software modules all offline.

Regards Michael
