Hello.

No, you can't get a new bar licence in Bangalore. This stupid rule has been in effect since 1993. It's created an artifical supply problem due to which the prices have gone up. I think the current rate for just buying an existing licence from someone is around 25 Lakhs, but it could be a little bit more or less. On top of that, you will have to pay some 8.6 Lakhs to the government to transfer it to your name, and then there are the usual "incidental expenses" on top of that. (Now you know why booze prices are going up in Bangalore.)

CL-9 License is what you need to run a bar+restaurant. I think CL-6 is a wine shop licence, and CL-7 is just a draught beer permit to add to your CL-9, but I could be mistaken about that.

If you need a consultant to help you through all this, please call Satish Kumar on 99455 19050 and refer my name.
