Teddy Towncrier | | Hey folks.
This movie pulled 5,500 views in the first day.
All the guy is doing is pumping up a tire.
Any ideas why it would be so successful from day 1? It's all here folks.
Bestest.

Kathy Buck | | My only thoughts....
Where is the female pumping the tire and the male having something flip up?
Such an unfair world!

Teddy Towncrier | | ROTFL. Thanks, Kathy ... I'm always on the lookout for ideas for scripts.
.. but will the reverse have as much appeal?
and maybe it will. The Russian movie will hit 1 mil within a month. (768,532 From May 21 till 10:00 Am today).
Seriously ... My sense is that crazy vid will go to 1 million views before 1 year and probably good for 10 mil in the long haul.
Happy Memorial Day, Y'all

Too funny. I agree with KB on this. Where is the show we gals would like to see?
My mower guy often has his adult (25-ish) son with him to mow and edge the property here. The son is as buff a kid as I have ever seen in my entire life up close, and personal. Incredibly good-looking, cut off jeans, no shirt. I have to admit to standing inside watching him with the edger or blower when he is working. Don't kid yourself, we women have our "fantasy" moments too.

EB: LMAO. Yep, you're probably right-o on that one.
It's sort of like seeing a butterfly that has a wing span of 24 inches. Unbelievable, right? But if you DID see a 2 foot butterfly, would you be able to take your eyes of of it?
This kid is my 2 foot butterfly. Un-frigging-believable.
I must be over-tired, over-heated and uh, ready for bed. Erase that - ready to SLEEP!

Teddy Towncrier | | Eileen likes buffed? (Why did I think "Ann Bancroft" when I saw that)?
The image of an IT executive peeking around curtains and devouring eye candy disturbs me enormously. ..... Shouldn't she be using Cams like many other IT leaders do? Mine's Here
Want Buffed? I'll give ya buffed ....
Best I can do this early in the day. ..... It's all here folks
Enjoy

 Ingrid Webster | | Teddy,
I love your cam view, - looks like a really good place to live and visit. The guy didn't do anything for me, even though he has a lot of humour to last a while. But then Eileen's description, now I admit, I'd not turn my head away on her 24" butterfly...
Try to not hurt your eyes today with your cams ;-)
Friendly greetings

Teddy Towncrier | | Ingrid .... Thanks for your sweet comment about my cam view.
Like you; I'm also a transplant (From UK) and also like you, have the choice of living and working in a couple of dozen countries. (EU/ NAFTA).
Toronto is just one of our fabulous cities and I give thanks every day that The Lord chose to plant me here.
Frankly; My feeling is that I'm living in the Garden of Eden. A 150 yr old, established community yet only 10 minutes from downtown and lots of social services. It doesn't get much better.
BTW The guy is not my cuppa either. Skilled labour is in short supply and he's the best I could get for a customer service manager. He certainly innovative.
The red carpet is always out for visitors. Come up and see us sometime.

bkrupp16 | | Since the men aren't eager to respond to this thread, I will venture out....
@BJ, this does fall right in line with the good ol Benny Hill Days, which falls right into today's marketing.... The crazy thing was that BH was on late at night until the mid-80s, if I am correct...
@Teddy, it pulls because the bottom line is that sex sells, both ways...LOL Why do you think they show the "buffed" men for the ads they want women to look at... I think that KB's Think tank thread discusses this thoroughly...
@Eileen, too funny...
@Ingrid, what ever it takes to catch your eye...LOL...
This video has to make you ask.... Who would watch more? The guys with a video like this or the women with a video of "buffed" men? HMMM...
Have a FUN Day!!!

Eileen Brown | | That is a nice view Teddy, Ingrid is right.
Buff is not my style really - I prefer brains. It's the amazing part of seeing someone so perfect... really, honestly. It's not what you think. I do not uh, lust after this kid. It's the wonder of the perfection and of perfect scale.
Also do not lurk - I have stood right in the middle of the doorway and if 'the kid' looked my way, I waved. OMG! I might be Mrs. Robinson! HaHaHaHa - Just kidding of course.

Ingrid Webster | | Right on! It's just comforting to know we are a lively bunch on this network!
BTW: as you all know, the hidden camera shows were always popular, and if done in good taste (as was Teddy's clip), they can bring out so much of human "natural" behavior. In that sense "Honi soit..."
(And, Eileen, I'm sure your flock knows your good intentions and would not even think otherwise. It's great to be able to chat on off topic subjects once in a while.)
Here's to all the eye soothers everywhere!

Eileen Brown | | @ Brian The guys with a video like this or the women with a video of "buffed" men?
I would never watch a video with buffed men. When a commercial comes on the TV, and I happen to be in the living room (which isn't much) I tune it out, mostly. I only pay attention for the marketing value of any commercials that I do lay eyeballs on. Unless, of course it is for something I might be interested in. :)
I do remember a spot from a few years ago (pepsi I think) where a couple of women in an office were ogling a window washer or some such thing. It was a hoot. I can see the women sitting there but cannot for the life of me, remember what the guy looked like.
Some famed (sculptor/painter) artist (can't remember the name) said that the most beautiful thing in the world to a man is the female form. I can believe this. However, when it comes to beauty and what women think is beautiful what comes to my mind is a small child (those tiny fingers and toes, trusting eyes and face), a flower, a string of satiny pearls... delicate, graceful, lovely things and uh, like that. For me there is nothing more beautiful than the memories of my children when they were small or the form/faces of my grand-sugars as they grow.
It's the difference of women/men in general, and how they think uh, or don't think. Whether psychological or physiological, beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

Get this: Teddy started a thread about raw sex and how that sells so well.
We women wind up talking about beauty.
Vive la difference!

 Susan McCool | | Eileen...I'm with ya girl :)
Last week, Paige and I walked down to my neighbor's house (approximately 1/4 mile) to say hi since she hasn't been wanting to walk lately. I quickly figured out why she has been wanting to sit at home on her front porch that looks directly over at her neighbor's property where they are building a new home.
The crew building that home....
MMMMMM...MMMMM...MMMMM!
Buff...no shirts...sweaty. *sigh*
Now, would that interest me on a video? No, not really. I think that by nature, men are more visual while women are more sensual. Watching a buff man on a video doesn't really do much for me other than thinking he is hot. But, then again, I can also see a beautiful woman on a video and think she is gorgeous. It doesn't go any further than that thought.
And Eileen is right...I think my children are the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
There are women out there that would like to see buff men on a video. I just think that sex appeal sells more to men than it does to women.
BTW...Eileen...I love watching commercials for the marketing messages, also. I think I shared that in my Tide Commercial thread at my network. I'm always looking for the next great marketing commercial. Right now, nothing on television really stands out at me.

FERGETOBOUTIT !!
No matter how carefully veiled; I'm noticing the hints.
The cam ** IS NOT ** coming indoors.
However; Start talking about a roast beef dinner with home made apple pie and double clotted Somerset cream. and I might listen.
@Susan. Men are more visual than women. We'll dop everying to feast our eyes. ( and you just love it ).
@Eileen. For me: The prettiest sight in the world is a young mother with her baby as they're starting their exciting journey. My Favourite Here

That about captures everything. So take note, guys!

bkrupp16 | | OK Ladies... You are correct! Guys will stop and stare at the site of a nice looking woman or car or truck... LOL... We are visual but there are women out there that react the same... Sorry but the new Macy's Commercial shows all of these famous women falling over themselves in order to see the guy... Sorry but I don't know his name...
@Eileen, use whatever words keep it clean... But men think and react in a way that makes them feel good.... It doesn't matter if hitting the homerun in the bottom of the ninth or watching the woman bend over on the street corner... Sorry Guys...
@Teddy... I am with you on your analogy... Now that I am older, still younger then most, a nice Steak and Potatoes sounds better to me then most things...
@Ingrid, I lost me hearing from the sound of a woman screaming... Just kidding... Actually, listening is a great thing to do in order to move your products and opportunities... Most of the time, people are so apt to spout out what they can give you without actually knowing what you really need...
So, think of this while you finish this post... The Arby's commercial where the three construction workers watch beautiful women walk past but whistle at the guy carrying the Arby's Bag while drinking the coke...LOL...
NOW THAT IS WORTH GETTING EXCITED ABOUT...LOL..
Have a wonderful afternoon...

Ingrid Webster | | Brian, that is a valid point right there and worth repeating: "Most of the time, people are so apt to spout out what they can give you without actually knowing what you really need..."
Many sales people (and others) should try to listen better. While we all know that and read it in all the sales teachings, we often forget it. So bringing it up was a good choice and when we read it often enough, maybe it'll make a difference for the better. Thanks a million.
